The Department of Education, in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 8(1)(b) and 43(5) of the Education (Northern Ireland) Order 2006(1), makes the following Order:
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as The Education (Other Skills) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007 and shall come into operation on 1st August 2007.
2.—(1) At Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, the other skills are—
(a) Thinking, Problem Solving and Decision Making;
(b) Self Management;
(c) Working With Others;
(d) Managing Information; and
(e) Being Creative.
(2) At Key Stage 4 the other skills are—
(a) Problem Solving;
(b) Self Management; and
(c) Working With Others.

This Order specifies the other skills for pupils in all Key Stages and will come into operation on 1st August 2007.
At Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 the other skills are: Thinking, Problem Solving and Decision Making; Self Management; Working with Others; Managing Information; and Being Creative. At Key Stage 4, the other skills are Problem Solving; Self Management; and Working with Others. The other skills at Key Stage 4 incorporate creativity and managing information, but are grouped differently to reflect the approach to skills across the United Kingdom at this key stage.
