The Department for Employment and Learning, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 1(3) and (4) of the Work and Families (Northern Ireland) Order 2006[1], makes the following Order: Citation and interpretation 1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Work and Families (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 (Commencement No. 1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006. (2) In this Order—
Provisions coming into operation on 1st September 2006
(b) Article 13, in so far as it relates to the provisions in Schedule 1 to the 2006 Order which are brought into operation by this Article; (c) Schedule 1, paragraphs 5, 30, 31, 32 and 33; and (d) Schedule 1, paragraphs 6, 8 and 20, for the purpose of the powers to prescribe matters by regulations.
Provisions coming into operation on 1st October 2006
(b) Schedule 1, paragraphs 6, 8 and 20, for all purposes other than those referred to in Article 2; (c) Schedule 1, paragraphs 7, 15(1), 15(3) and 22; (d) Articles 15 and 16; (e) Article 17, in so far as it relates to the provisions in Schedule 2 to the 2006 Order which are brought into operation by this Order; and (f) Schedule 2 (repeals), in so far as it gives effect to the following repeals—
(ii) section 1 of the Social Security Act (Northern Ireland) 2002[3].
Provisions coming into operation on 6th April 2007
(b) Schedule 2 (repeals) in so far as it gives effect to the repeal of Article 112F(3), (6) and (7) of the Employment Rights (Northern Ireland) Order 1996[4].
(This note is not part of the Order) This Order brings into operation certain provisions of the Work and Families (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 (S.I. 2006/1947 (N.I. 16)) ("the 2006 Order"). Article 2 lists those provisions of the 2006 Order that will come into operation on 1st September 2006. Article 3 lists the provisions that will come into operation on 1st October 2006 and Article 4 lists those provisions that will come into operation on 6th April 2007.
