The Department for Regional Development makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 23(7)(c) of the Traffic Management (Northern Ireland) Order 2005[1]: Citation and commencement 1. These Regulations may be cited as The Removal, Storage and Disposal of Vehicles (Prescribed Charges) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006 and shall come into operation on 30th October 2006. Prescribed charges 2. For the purposes of the provisions of regulation 3 relating to storage, each period of 24 hours therein referred to shall be reckoned from noon on the first day after removal during which the place at which the vehicle is stored is open for the claiming of vehicles before noon. 3. The prescribed charges for the purposes of Article 23(7)(c) of the Traffic Management (Northern Ireland) Order 2005 shall be —
(b) in respect of storage, £12 for each period of 24 hours or a part thereof during which the vehicle is in the custody of the Department; (c) in respect of disposal, £50.
(This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations prescribe the charges in respect of the removal, storage and disposal of vehicles in contravention of traffic offences subject to civil enforcement by the Department for Regional Development for the purposes of Article 23(7)(c) of the Traffic Management (Northern Ireland) Order 2005. The charges in respect of removal, storage, and disposal are to be set at £105, £12 for each 24 hour period, and £50 respectively.
