SALARIES

Salaries (Assembly Ombudsman and Commissioner for Complaints) Order (Northern Ireland) 1999

  Made 16th June 1999 
  Coming into operation 7th July 1999 

The Department of Finance and Personnel, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 5(1) and (2) of the Ombudsman (Northern Ireland) Order 1996[1] and Article 4(1) and (2) of the Commissioner for Complaints (Northern Ireland) Order 1996[2] and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Title and commencement
     1. This Order may be cited as the Salaries (Assembly Ombudsman and Commissioner for Complaints) Order (Northern Ireland) 1999 and shall come into operation on 7th July 1999.

Revocation
    
2. The Salaries (Assembly Ombudsman and Commissioner for Complaints) Order (Northern Ireland) 1998[3] is hereby revoked.

Increase in Salaries
     3. The annual salaries payable to the Assembly Ombudsman and the Commissioner for Complaints shall be increased from £80,460 to £84,483 from 1st April 1999.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)


This Order provides for an increase in the annual salaries payable to the Assembly Ombudsman for Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Complaints.

This increase is made with retrospective effect from 1st April 1999 under Article 5(2) of the Ombudsman (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 and Article 4(2) of the Commissioner for Complaints (Northern Ireland) Order 1996.

Article 2 revokes the Salaries (Assembly Ombudsman and Commissioner for Complaints) Order (Northern Ireland) 1998.
