The Department of Finance and Personnel in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 3(4) and (7) of the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972[1] and now vested in it[2] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Superannuation (Commission for Racial Equality (Northern Ireland)) Order (Northern Ireland) 1998 and shall come into operation on 14th September 1998.
2. There shall be added to the employments and offices listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 with effect from 4th August 1997 employment in the Commission for Racial Equality (Northern Ireland)[3].

This Order adds employment in the Commission for Racial Equality (Northern Ireland) to the Schedule of employments and offices for whom the Department of Finance and Personnel may make pension schemes. It is retrospective by virtue of Article 3(7) of the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972.
