The Department of Health and Social Services, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 70(3) of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995[1] and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order: Citation 1. This Order may be cited as the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (Commencement No. 5) Order (Northern Ireland) 1998. Appointed day 2. The day appointed for the coming into operation of sections 46, 47 and, in so far as it relates to section 46, section 48 of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995[2] is 13th May 1998. Sealed with the Official Seal of the Department of Health and Social Services on L.S.
(This note is not part of the Order.) This Order brings into operation on 13th May 1998 sections 46 (rail vehicle accessibility regulations), 47 (exemption from rail vehicle accessibility regulations) and, in so far as it relates to section 46, section 48 (offences by bodies corporate etc.) of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. (This note is not part of the Order.) The following provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, as modified in its application to Northern Ireland by Schedule 8 thereof, have been brought into operation by Commencement Orders made before the date of this Order: -
