EDUCATION

Education (Individual Pupils' Achievements) (Information) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1997

Made 1st May 1997
Coming into operation 2nd June 1997


    The Department of Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 17A(1), (2) and (2A) and 134(1) of the Education and Libraries (Northern Ireland) Order 1986[1] and Article 31(2) and (3) of the Education Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 1989[2] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, and after consulting as required by Article 31(4) of that Order, hereby makes the following Regulations:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Individual Pupils' Achievements) (Information) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1997 and shall come into operation on 2nd June 1997.
    Amendment of the Education (Individual Pupils' Achievements) (Information) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995
        2.    The Education (Individual Pupils' Achievements) (Information) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995[3] shall be amended as provided in regulations 3 and 4.
        3.    For Schedule 1 (Information to be provided for the parents of a pupil in the final year of the first, second or third key stage) there shall be substituted the Schedule set out in the Schedule.
        4.    In Schedule 5 (Information to be provided in the summative Record of Achievement of a pupil in the final year of the fourth key stage), in Schedule 6 (Information to be provided in the summative Record of Achievement of a pupil in the sixth form) and in Schedule 7 for the words "School Achievements" in each place where they occur there shall be substituted "Achievements in Education".
    Saving
        5.    Schedule 1 to the Education (Individual Pupils' Achievements) (Information) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995 shall continue to apply until 1st August 1997 to pupils who are in an Irish speaking school as if these Regulations had not been made.
