EDUCATION Education (School Information and Prospectuses) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996
1. (2) Subject to regulation 2, these Regulations shall have effect in relation to information to be published or otherwise made available by Boards of Governors in the school year in which they come into operation and in each subsequent school year.

"(3) In these Regulations any reference to GNVQ at Intermediate level shall be construed so as to include a reference to the Business and Technology Education Council First Diploma and the City and Guilds of London Institute Diploma of Vocational Education (Intermediate) and any reference to GNVQ at Advanced level shall be construed so as to include a reference to the Business and Technology Education Council National Diploma and the City and Guilds of London Institute Diploma of Vocational Education (National)."

Regulation 5 requires the Board of Governors to publish in its annual report information relating to how the school's curricular aims have been met in relation to sport and a list of the sports available. It also requires the Board of Governors to include in the report particulars of how they have met their duties in relation to careers education and careers guidance. Regulation 6(b) requires the Board of Governors to publish, in the prospectus for the school, information about the time available for sport in the curriculum. Regulation 6(c) requires Boards of Governors to include, with the information published about the performance of pupils in public examinations, information about the percentage of pupils achieving Grade A* in GCSE examinations. Regulation 6(e) requires the Board of Governors to include in the prospectus for the school particulars of the school's sporting aims, the sports facilities available to pupils and a list of the sports available to pupils at the school. Regulation 6(f) requires the Board of Governors to include in its prospectus a statement of the school's policy on education in relation to drugs.
