Abolition of Strategic Health Authorities 3.
The Strategic Health Authorities listed in column (1) of Schedule 2 are abolished.

(2) All the property, rights and liabilities of the old authorities which are not mentioned in article 5 are transferred in each case from the old authority to the relevant new authority.
(3) In paragraph (2), "property" includes the trust property held by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Strategic Health Authority, and "rights and liabilities" includes any rights and liabilities in relation to that property.

Signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Health

It establishes in their place, and for the areas described in column (2) of Schedule 1 to the Order, the new Strategic Health Authorities listed in column (1) of that Schedule ("the new authorities") (articles 2 and 3). It identifies a successor Strategic Health Authority for each of the old authorities, defined in the Order as the "relevant new authority", and lists these bodies in Schedule 2.
The Order also provides for the transfer of property, rights, liabilities and staff from the old authorities to the new authorities (articles 4 and 5), for the accounts and the winding up of the affairs of the old authorities (articles 6 and 7) and for the continuity of the exercise of functions between the old authorities and the new authorities (article 8). The Order also revokes the orders listed in Schedule 3 (article 9).
