The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 93 of the Equality Act 2006 [1]. Citation and interpretation 1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Equality Act 2006 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2006. (2) In this Order —
Provisions coming into force on 18 April 2006
(b) sections 33 to 39; (c) section 40 for the purpose only of bringing into force paragraph 35(b) of Schedule 3; (d) section 43(2); (e) section 52(6); (f) sections 70 and 71; (g) sections 81 and 82; (h) section 84 insofar as it inserts section 76A into the 1975 Act, for the purpose only of exercising any power to make orders under section 76B and 76C of the 1975 Act (as inserted by section 85 of the 2006 Act); (i) section 85 insofar as it inserts sections 76B and 76C into the 1975 Act, for the purpose only of exercising any power to make orders; (j) sections 87 to 90; (k) section 92; (l) Schedule 1; and (m) paragraph 35(b) of Schedule 3.
Provisions coming into force on 4 December 2006
(b) sections 84 and 85 for all purposes other than those referred to in article 2.
(This note is not part of the Order) This Order brings into force certain provisions of the Equality Act 2006 (c.3). Article 2 lists those provisions of the 2006 Act that shall come into force on 18 April 2006.
