The Secretary of State, in exercise of her powers under sections 1, 7 and 23(f) and (g) of the Animal Health Act 1981[1], makes the following Order: Title, commencement and application 1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) (Amendment) (England) Order 2005 and comes into force on 8 August 2005. (2) This Order applies in England only. Amendments to the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978 2. —(1) The Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978[2] is amended in relation to England in accordance with the following provisions of this article. (2) In paragraph (2) of article 6 of the 1978 Order (which specifies the date until which disinfectants subject to transitional provisions remain approved), for "28th February 2005" substitute "31st October 2005". (3) For Schedule 1 to the 1978 Order (which lists approved disinfectants), substitute Schedule 1 to this Order. (4) For Schedule 2 to the 1978 Order (which lists disinfectants subject to transitional provisions), substitute Schedule 2 to this Order. Revocation 3. The Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) (Amendment) (England) Order 2004[3] is revoked. (This note is not part of the Order) This Order, which applies in England only, amends the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978 (S.I. 1978/32) and revokes the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) (England) Order 2004 (S.I. 2004/2891). It comes into force on 8th August 2005. The Order substitutes for Schedules 1 and 2 to the 1978 Order the Schedules 1 and 2 set out in this Order. Schedule 1 lists disinfectants approved by the Secretary of State and Schedule 2 lists disinfectants which, although no longer approved, may continue to be used as approved disinfectants until 31st October 2005. This Order was notified in draft to the European Commission in accordance with Directive 98/34/EC, as amended by Directive 98/48/EC. A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on the costs of business.
