The Pensions Act 2004 (Commencement No. 5) Order 2005

Citation and interpretation

- (1) This Order may be cited as the Pensions Act 2004 (Commencement No. 5) Order 2005.

(2) In this Order "the Act" means the Pensions Act 2004.

Appointed days

- (1) The day appointed for the coming into force of section 168 of the Act (administration of compensation) as modified by regulations made under section 286(3)(j) of the Act (financial assistance scheme for members of certain pension schemes) is the day after the day on which the first regulations under section 286 of the Act are made.

(2) The day appointed -

is 20th June 2005.

(3) The day appointed for the coming into force of section 173(3)(k) of the Act -

(4) The day appointed for the coming into force of section 176 of the Act -

(5) The day appointed for the coming into force of sections 286 and 318(5) of the Act (general interpretation) is 1st June 2005.

(6) The day appointed for the coming into force of section 302(2) of the Act (dissolution of the Pensions Compensation Board) is 27th May 2005.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order makes further provision for the coming into force of provisions of the Pensions Act 2004 (c.35) ("the Act") on the following dates -

- 27th May 2005 for the purpose only of conferring powers to make regulations relating to supplementary provisions about pension protection levies. The provision is brought fully into force on 20th June 2005;
