The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf: 1. This Order may be cited as the A63 Trunk Road (Barlby Junction to Bridge Farm) (Detrunking) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 10th February 2005. 2. In this Order -
(ii) "the new trunk road" means the new highway which the Secretary of State proposes to construct referred to in article 2 of the A63 Trunk Road (Osgodby Bypass) Order 2004[3]; (iii) "the trunk road" means the Liverpool-Leeds-Hull Trunk Road (A63).

The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the North Yorkshire County Council that the new trunk road is open for traffic. The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is about 1.4 kilometres in length, situated in the District of Selby in the County of North Yorkshire. It starts from the A63 Trunk Road at Barlby Junction with the A19 Trunk Road (marked "A" on the deposited plan), going in a south easterly direction to a point 65 metres south east of Bridge Farm south of Osgodby village (marked "B" on the deposited plan) and is shown by broad black dashes on the plan numbered HA10/TD/006, marked "The A63 Trunk Road (Barlby Junction to Bridge Farm) (Detrunking) Order 2004", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport, and deposited at ODPM-DfT Records Management Branch, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA.
