The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[1], and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf: 1. This Order may be cited as the M62 Motorway (Junction 21 Improvements) (Slip Roads) (Detrunking) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 31st December 2004. 2. In this Order - (1) "classified road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads; (2) "the slip roads" means the M62 Junction 21 Eastbound exit-slip road, the M62 Junction 21 Westbound exit-slip road and the M62 Junction 21 Westbound entry-slip road; and (3) "the plan" means the plan numbered HA/16/OD/27 and marked "The M62 Motorway (Junction 21 Improvements) (Slip Roads) (Detrunking) Order 2004", signed by the authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the DTLR, Records Management Branch, Ashdown House, Sedlescombe Rd North, St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex TN37 7GA. 3. The lengths of the slip roads described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be trunk road and shall be classified as classified roads from the date on which this Order comes into force.
