Their Lordships, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by article 48(2) of the Health Professions Order 2001[1], and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order: Citation, commencement and interpretation 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Health Professions (Transitional Provisions) Order of Council 2004 and shall come into force on 18th October 2004. (2) In this Order -
Transitional provisions
(b) a person who is transferred as mentioned in paragraph (a) shall not be liable to pay a registration fee in respect of his first registration period.
(This note is not part of the Order) This Order makes transitional provisions arising out of the application of the Health Professions Order 2001 to operating department practitioners by the Health Professions (Operating Department Practitioners and Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2004. It provides for the date of expiry of the first registration period for operating department practitioners who are transferred from the register maintained by the Association of Operating Department Practitioners to the register maintained by the Health Professions Council and for no fee to be payable for that registration period.
