The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by section 1(1) of the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975[1], and after such consultation as is mentioned in section 18(4) of that Act, hereby makes the following Order: Citation and commencement 1. This Order may be cited as the Safety of Sports Grounds (Designation) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 21st August 2004. Designation 2. The sports grounds specified in the Schedule to this Order (being sports grounds which in opinion of the Secretary of State have accommodation for more than 10,000 spectators) are hereby designated as sports grounds requiring safety certificates under the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975. (This note is not part of the Order) This Order designates the Kingston Park Stadium in Newcastle Upon Tyne and Franklin's Gardens in Northampton as sports grounds requiring safety certificates under the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975.
