(a) the Education Maintenance Allowance (Pilot Areas) Regulations 2001[2];

(b) the Education Maintenance Allowance (Pilot Areas) (Amendment) Regulations 2002[3]; and

(c) the Education Maintenance Allowance (Pilot Areas) (Amendment) Regulations 2003[4].

    (2) The regulations referred to in paragraph (1) shall continue to have effect until the end of 31st August 2004 in relation to students who - 

(a) are receiving for the academic year 2003 - 2004 any of the allowances specified in regulation 8, 9, 10 or 11 of the Education Maintenance Allowance (Pilot Areas) Regulations 2001, or

(b) applied for any such allowance for the academic year 2003 - 2004 before 1st May 2004, or

(c) apply for any such allowance for the academic year 2003 - 2004 on or after 1st May 2004.

    (3) In paragraph (2) "academic year" has the same meaning as in the Education Maintenance Allowance (Pilot Areas) Regulations 2001.
