The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by sections 23(2), 68(4) and 68(5)(a) of the Coal Industry Act 1994[1], hereby makes the following Order: Citation and Interpretation 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Coal Industry Act 1994 (Commencement No. 7) and Dissolution of the British Coal Corporation Order 2004. (2) In this Order, the "Act" means the Coal Industry Act 1994. Provisions Coming into Force on 27th March 2004 2. The following provisions shall come into force on 27th March 2004:
(b) Part III of Schedule 11 to the Act, so far as it relates to the repeals set out in the Schedule to this Order.
Dissolution of the British Coal Corporation
(This note is not part of the Order) This Order provides for the dissolution of the British Coal Corporation on 27 March 2004 and brings into force certain of the repeals specified in Part III of Schedule 11 to the Coal Industry Act 1994 not previously brought into force. (This note is not part of the Order) The following provisions of the Coal Industry Act 1994 have been brought into force by commencement order made before the date of this Order:
In addition, the provisions specified in section 68(2) of the Act came into force on 31st October 1994 by virtue of the Coal Industry (Restructuring Date) Order 1994 (S.I. 1994/2553) and the provisions specified in section 68(3) of the Act will come into force on 27 March 2004 by virtue of the making of this Order.
