The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 19(1)(a) and (d) of the Commons Registration Act 1965[1], and now vested in her[2], hereby makes the following Regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Commons Registration (General) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2003, shall apply in relation to England only and shall come into force on 1st October 2003. 2. The Commons Registration (General) Regulations 1966[3] shall be amended as follows -
(b) in Schedule 3 (Fees for Searches, etc.) -
(ii) in the second column, for the amounts "£6.00" and "50p" there shall be substituted the amounts "£14.00" and "£1.00" respectively.
(This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations provide, in relation to England only, for an increase of fees prescribed in the Commons Registration (General) Regulations 1966 (and previously increased by S.I. 1980/1195 and S.I. 1989/2167) for searches of the registers of common land and town or village greens. They also amend Form 21, which must be used to apply for searches of the registers. A Regulatory Impact Assessment in respect of these Regulations has been produced and a copy placed in the Library of both Houses of Parliament.
