The Greater London Authority Act 1999 (Commencement No. 11) Order 2003

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the power conferred by section 425(2) of the Greater London Authority Act[1] hereby makes the following Order:
Citation 1.
This Order may be cited as the Greater London Authority Act 1999 (Commencement No. 11) Order 2003.
Commencement of provisions 2.
The following provisions of the Greater London Authority Act 1999 shall come into force on 15th July 2003 -
(a) section 217;
(b) section 220 (and accordingly Schedules 14 and 15) and sections 221 to 224;
(c) section 245 so far as it is not already in force;
(d) section 301;
(e) section 303 so far as it is not already in force;
(f) section 423 so far as it relates to the provisions of Schedule 34 brought into force by sub-paragraph (h) below;
(g) Schedule 17 so far as it is not already in force; and
(h) Part II of Schedule 34 except so far as it -
(i) relates to Part II of the Transport Act 1985; or
(ii) is already in force.

This Order brings into force on 15th July 2003 certain provisions of the Greater London Authority Act 1999 relating to transport. The provisions are section 217 and Schedule 12 (to the extent not already in force), sections 220 to 224 and Schedules 14 and 15, all of which relate to public-private partnership agreements, section 245 and Schedule 17 to the extent not already in force (ie for the purpose of repealing the London Regional Transport (Penalty Fares) Act 1992), section 301 (transfer of functions and transfer and disposal of historic records and relics), section 303 (interpretation of Part IV, chapter XVI) to the extent not already in force and section 423 so far as it relates to the previously uncommenced repeals of various enactments relating to transport in Part II of Schedule 34, with the exception of Part II of the Transport Act 1985 (regulation of buses) which remains in force subject to the modifications in the Regulation of Bus Services in Greater London (Transitional Provisions) Order 2000, S.I. 2000/1462.
