Her Majesty, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, and by virtue of the authority conferred upon Her by section 159 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988[1], is pleased to order, and it is hereby ordered as follows - 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Copyright (Application to Other Countries) (Amendment) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 22nd April 2003. (2) In this Order "the Principal Order" means the Copyright (Application to Other Countries) Order 1999[2]. 2. - (1) Schedule 1 to the Principal Order shall be amended as follows. (2) The following shall be inserted into the list of entries in proper alphabetical order:
(3) The words "Kampuchea (27th September 1957)" shall be omitted.

- (1) Schedule 3 to the Principal Order shall be amended as follows.

(4) After the words "United States" there shall be inserted "of America". (This note is not part of the Order) This Order amends the Copyright (Application to Other Countries) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/1751) ("the Principal Order"). The Principal Order applies or continues to apply the provisions of Part 1 of, and Schedule 1 to, the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 to works of different types originating in the countries specified in the Schedules to the Principal Order with the effect that those works receive or continue to receive copyright protection in the United Kingdom. In particular this Order amends the Schedules to the Principal Order to take into account the accession of:
(b) Albania, Armenia, Croatia, Dominica, Estonia, Israel, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Nicaragua and Ukraine to the Rome Convention for the Protection of Performers, Producers of Phonograms and Broadcasting Organisations (Cmnd. 2425); and (c) China, Estonia, Georgia, Jordan, Oman and Taiwan to the Agreement establishing the World Trade Organisation (Cmnd. 2556-59, 2561-69, 2571-74) including the Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights.
Minor modifications are also made to correct references to certain countries listed in Schedules 1 and 3 of the Principal Order. Notes: [1] 1988 c. 48.back
