The Electoral Commission[1], in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 17 [2] and 26 [3] of the Local Government Act 1992, hereby make the following Order: Citation and Commencement 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the District of South Cambridgeshire (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2003. (2) This Order shall come into force on the day after that on which it is made. Amendment to the 2002 Order 2. - (1) The District of South Cambridgeshire (Electoral Changes) Order 2002[4] shall be amended as follows: (2) In article 6 (4), "Babraham," , "Great Abington,", "Little Abington,", "Pampisford," , and "West Wickham," shall be omitted, and "and Westwick" shall be inserted after the word "Oakington".[5] (3) In article 6 (5) "Babraham," shall be inserted before the word "Barrington", and "Grantchester, Great Abington, Little Abington and Pampisford" shall be substituted for "and Grantchester". (4) In article 6 (7), "Babraham," shall be inserted before the word "Barrington", and ", Grantchester, Great Abington, Little Abington and Pampisford" shall be substituted for "and Grantchester". (5) In article 6 (8), "Ditton" shall be substituted for "Bitton". (6) The following shall be substituted for article 6 (10):
(This note is not part of the Order) This Order amends the District of South Cambridgeshire (Electoral Changes) Order 2002 by making amendments to the provision for certain parish elections including providing for the parishes of Babraham, Great Abington, Little Abington, Pampisford and West Wickham to hold elections in 2007 rather than 2006, and by taking account of the creation of the parish of Oakington and Westwick by the South Cambridgeshire (Parishes) Order 1984. Notes: [1] The Electoral Commission was established by the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (c. 41). The functions of the Secretary of State, under sections 13 to 15 and 17 of the Local Government Act 1992 (c. 19), so far as they relate to electoral changes within the meaning of that Act, were transferred with modifications to the Electoral Commission by the Local Government Commission for England (Transfer of Functions) Order 2001 (S.I. 2001/3962).back [2] 1992 c. 19.
