DISABLED PERSONS, SCOTLAND

The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (Commencement No. 10) (Scotland) Order 2003

  Made 4th February 2003 

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 70(3) of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995[1] hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and application
     1.  - (1) This Order may be cited as the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (Commencement No. 10) (Scotland) Order 2003.

    (2) This Order applies in relation to Scotland.

Commencement
    
2. Section 39 of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (requirements as to disabled passengers in Scotland) shall come into force on 5th February 2003.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order brings into force on 5th February 2003 section 39 of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, which amends Part II of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 in relation to the licensing of, and carriage of, disabled persons in taxis.
