The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by paragraph 12(4) of the Schedule to the Northern Ireland Act 2000[1], hereby makes the following Order: 1. This Order may be cited as the Northern Ireland Act 2000 (Prescribed Documents) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 9th January 2003. 2. - (1) The accounts, reports and other documents referred to in paragraphs (2) and (3) below are hereby prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 12(4) of the Schedule to the Northern Ireland Act 2000. (2) Accounts and reports required to be laid before (or presented or made to) the Northern Ireland Assembly under:
(b) Article 90(2)(c) of the Health and Personal Social Services (Northern Ireland) Order 1972[3]; or (c) section 2(2) of the Exchequer and Financial Provisions Act (Northern Ireland) 1950[4]; and
(3) Reports under Article 11 of the Audit (Northern Ireland) Order 1987[5]. (This note is not part of the Order) This Order prescribes accounts, reports and other documents for the purpose of paragraph 12(4) of the Schedule to the Northern Ireland Act 2000 (c. 1). The documents concerned are documents which would be laid, presented or made to the Northern Ireland Assembly, were it not currently suspended under section 1 of the Northern Ireland Act 2000 (brought into force on 15th October 2002 by S.I. 2002/2574). The effect of prescribing the documents in this Order is that, while the Assembly is suspended, the documents must instead be laid before each House of Parliament.
