PRIVATE SECURITY

The Private Security Industry Act 2001 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2002

  Made 13th December 2002 

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 26(2) of the Private Security Industry Act 2001[1], hereby makes the following Order:

     1.  - (1) This Order may be cited as the Private Security Industry Act 2001 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2002.

    (2) In this Order, "the 2001 Act" means the Private Security Industry Act 2001.

    
2. The following provisions of the 2001 Act shall come into force on 1st January 2003:

    (a) section 1(6) (Security Industry Authority) in so far as necessary for the purposes of paragraphs (c) and (d) below;

    (b) section 25 (interpretation);

    (c) paragraphs 1 to 3 of Schedule 1; and

    (d) paragraph 6(1)(a) and (2) of Schedule 1.

     3. The following provisions of the 2001 Act shall come into force on 1st April 2003:

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order brings into force the provisions of the Private Security Industry Act 2001 set out in article 2 on 1st January 2003 to the extent specified.

The provisions set out in article 3 are brought into force on 1st April 2003.

The provisions set out in article 4 are brought into force on 1st April 2003 for the purposes of making regulations and orders only.
