The Education (Funding for Teacher Training) Designation (No. 3) Order 2002

  Coming into force 1st January 2003 

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Secretary of State by section 4(2) of the Education Act 1994[1] the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Order: - 

     1. This Order may be cited as the Education (Funding for Teacher Training) Designation (No. 3) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 1st January 2003.

    
2. Encompass Education Limited, a company limited by shares having the registration number 4471179, is hereby designated as an institution eligible for funding under Part I of the Education Act 1994.

    
3. References in Part I of the Education Act 1994 to the governing body of an institution shall, in relation to Encompass Education Limited, be read as references to that company.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order, which comes into force on 1st January 2003, is made under section 4(2) of the Education Act 1994. It designates Encompass Education Limited, a company limited by shares having the registration number 4471179 as an institution eligible for funding under Part I of the Education Act 1994.

As a result of this Order, the Teacher Training Agency may make grants, loans or other payments in respect of expenditure incurred or to be incurred by the designated institution for the purposes of the provision of teacher training and the provision of facilities, and the carrying on of other activities, which the institution considers it necessary or desirable to provide or carry on for the purpose of or in connection with the provision of teacher training.
