ROAD TRAFFIC

The M11 Motorway (Junction 8) (Speed Limit) Regulations 2002

  Made 27th November 2002 
  Laid before Parliament 29th November 2002 
  Coming into force 20th December 2002 

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 17(2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 134(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement
     1. These Regulations may be cited as the M11 Motorway (Junction 8) (Speed Limit) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 20th December 2002.

Imposition of speed limit
    
2. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour on any of the lengths of motorway specified in the Schedule to these Regulations.

THE SCHEDULE

Lengths of motorway being slip roads comprising part of the M11 Motorway in the County of Essex


     1 That length of motorway exit slip road connecting the northbound carriageway of the M11 Motorway to the eastbound carriageway of Thremhall Avenue from a point 30 metres north of the northern overbridge at Junction 8 of the M11 Motorway to a point 300 metres east of the eastern bridge of the Priory Wood Roundabout, a distance of 1,510 metres.

     2 That length of motorway slip road connecting the northbound exit slip road of the M11 Motorway to the Priory Wood Roundabout, a distance of 130 metres.

     3 That length of motorway entry slip road connecting Thremhall Avenue to the southbound carriageway of the M11 Motorway from a point 300 metres east of the eastern bridge of the Priory Wood Roundabout to a point 30 metres north of the northern overbridge at Junction 8 of the M11 Motorway, a distance of 1,275 metres.

     4 That length of motorway slip road connecting Priory Wood Roundabout to the southbound entry slip road of the M11 Motorway, a distance of 130 metres.

All distances are measured along the route of those carriageways or roads.



EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations impose a 50 miles per hour speed limit on the lengths of motorway slip roads set out in the Schedule to the Regulations.
