The Education (Funding for Teacher Training) Designation (No. 2) Order 2002

  Coming into force 18th November 2002 

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Secretary of State by section 4(2) of the Education Act 1994[1] the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Order: - 

     1. This Order may be cited as the Education (Funding for Teacher Training) Designation (No. 2) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 18th November 2002.

    
2. The bodies referred to in the Schedule are hereby designated as institutions eligible for funding under Part I of the Education Act 1994.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order, which comes into force on 18th November 2002, is made under section 4(2) of the Education Act 1994. It designates Brighton and Hove City Council, Lincolnshire County Council, South Gloucestershire Council, Warwickshire County Council, West Berkshire Council, Worcestershire County Council, Wokingham District Council, City of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council, Swindon Borough Council, Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council, Rutland County Council and Islington Council as institutions eligible for funding under Part I of the Education Act 1994.

As a result of this Order, the Teacher Training Agency may make grants, loans or other payments in respect of expenditure incurred or to be incurred by the designated institutions for the purposes of the provision of teacher training and the provision of facilities, and the carrying on of other activities, which the institutions consider it necessary or desirable to provide or carry on for the purpose of or in connection with the provision of teacher training.
