Whereas a draft of this Order has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament; Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(2) of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001[1], hereby makes the following Order: 1. This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (Amendment) Order 2002 and shall come into force on the 22nd July 2002. 2. In the Table in section 1(1) of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001, after the entry in respect of the Telecommunications Act 1984[2], there is inserted the following entry -
(This note is not part of the Order) This Order amends the table in section 1(1) of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (c.16). It adds a further offence to those in respect of which a penalty notice may be given and penalty levied under sections 2 and 3 of that Act. Notes: [1] 2001 c.16.back
