BETTING, GAMING AND LOTTERIES

The Gaming Clubs (Charges) (Amendment) Regulations 2002

  Made 19th July 2002 
  Laid before Parliament 22nd July 2002 
  Coming into force 12th August 2002 

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 14(2) of the Gaming Act 1968[1] and after consultation with the Gaming Board for Great Britain, hereby makes the following Regulations:

     1.  - (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Gaming Clubs (Charges) (Amendment) Regulations 2002.

    (2) These Regulations shall come into force on 12th August 2002.

    (3) In these Regulations - 

    "the Scottish Regulations" means the Gaming Clubs (Hours and Charges) (Scotland) Regulations 1984[3].

     2.  - (1) In regulation 5(1) (bingo charges) of the 1984 Regulations and of the Scottish Regulations, in each case -

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations amend the Gaming Clubs (Hours and Charges) Regulations 1984, and the Gaming Clubs (Hours and Charges) (Scotland) Regulations 1984. They increase the maximum admission charge to a bingo club from £10 to £20, and increase the maximum participation charge in a game of bingo from £5 to £10.
