Her Majesty, in pursuance of paragraph (c) of Schedule 2 to the Charities Act 1993[1], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Exempt Charities Order 2002 and shall come into force on 27th June 2002. 2. Courtauld Institute of Art is hereby declared to be an exempt charity for the purposes of the Charities Act 1993. A. K. Galloway Clerk of the Privy Council (This note is not part of the Order) This Order declares Courtauld Institute of Art to be an exempt charity within the meaning of the Charities Act 1993 with effect from 27th June 2002. An exempt charity is not required to be registered with the Charity Commissioners and the Commissioners cannot exercise any powers under the Act in relation to an exempt charity except at the charity's request.
