The National Health Service Trusts (Originating Capital) Order 2002

  Made 25th March 2002 
  Coming into force 1st April 2002 

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 9(1) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, with the consent of the Treasury[2], hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, commencement and interpretation and extent
     1.  - (1) This Order may be cited as the National Health Service Trusts (Originating Capital) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 1st April 2002.

    (2) In this Order - 

    "the Schedule" means the Schedule to this Order.

    (3) This Order extends to England only.

Originating capital of NHS trusts
    
2. The originating capital of an NHS trust specified in column 1 of the Schedule shall be of the amount specified opposite it in column 2 of the Schedule.

This Order determines the amount of the originating capital provided for in Section 9 of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 of NHS Trusts established under that Act in the year beginning 1 April 2001.
