The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf: 1. This Order may be cited as the A41 London to Birkenhead Trunk Road (Buckinghamshire) (Detrunking) Order 2002, and shall come into force on 30 March 2002. 2. In this Order -
(ii) "the trunk road" means the A41 London to Birkenhead Trunk Road (A41)

The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies Buckinghamshire County Council that they will become the highway authority responsible for that length of road. The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated between the boundary of the Counties of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire (east of Blackthorn) to the centre point of its junction with the access road to Weston Mead Farm (east of Aylesbury), including:
all lay-bys (see plan pages 15, 16, 19, 21, 22 & 26);
