The General Synod, in exercise of the power conferred by section 1(4) of the National Institutions Measure 1998[1], hereby resolves as follows: 1. This Resolution may be cited as the National Institutions Measure 1998 (Amendment) Resolution 2001 and shall come into force on 1st January 2002. 2. For paragraph 4(2) of Schedule 1 to the National Institutions Measure 1998(a), there shall be substituted the following sub-paragraph -
(b) in the case of members so appointed, not less than one year and not more than five years.".
(This Note is not part of the Resolution) This Resolution amends Schedule 1 to the National Institutions Measure 1998, so as to reduce from three years to one year the minimum period of service of members of the Archbishops' Council who are appointed by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, acting jointly.
