The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 20(1) and (2) of the Social Security Fraud Act 2001[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order: Citation and interpretation 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Social Security Fraud Act 2001 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2001. (2) In this Order references to "the Act" are to the Social Security Fraud Act 2001. Appointed days 2. - (1) The days appointed for the coming into force of section 16 of the Act (offence of failing to notify a change of circumstances) -
(b) for all other purposes is 18th October 2001.
(This note is not part of the Order) This Order provides for the coming into force of section 16 of the Social Security Fraud Act 2001 (which provides for offences in relation to the failure to notify a change of circumstances) for the purposes of making regulations on 26th September 2001 and for all other purposes on 18th October 2001.
