The NCS Service Authority (Budget Statement) Order 2001

  Made 5th July 2001 
  Laid before Parliament 11th July 2001 
  Coming into force 1st August 2001 

In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 61A(3)(f) and (4) of the Police Act 1997[1], the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement
     1. This Order may be cited as the NCS Service Authority (Budget Statement) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 1st August 2001.

Interpretation
    
2. In this Order:

    (a) "the 1997 Act" means the Police Act 1997;

    (b) "the Authority" means the NCS Service Authority;

    (c) "NCS" means the National Crime Squad; and

    (d) "operating costs" includes any remuneration, including pensions, payable to and in respect of the Authority's officers and employees, the cost of any accommodation occupied by the Authority and the cost of any services provided to the Authority.

Preparation of budget statement
    
3.  - (1) In preparing a budget statement for a financial year, the Authority shall, in addition to the matters set out in section 61A(3)(a) to (e) of the 1997 Act, also take account of -

4.  - (1) A budget statement submitted under section 61A(1) of the 1997 Act for a financial year shall contain the following information - 

    (2) In addition to the information required by paragraph (1) above to be included in the budget statement, the statement may contain any other information which the Authority believes would assist the Secretary of State in determining the amount of the grant to be made to the Authority under section 62 of the 1997 Act[2].

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order prescribes additional matters which the NCS (National Crime Squad) Service Authority must take into account in preparing a budget statement of the amount of grant it estimates it will require for the next financial year for submission to the Secretary of State under section 61A of the Police Act 1997. It also prescribes the information which the budget statement must contain.
