CHILDREN AND YOUNG PERSONS, ENGLAND

Child Minding and Day Care (Certificates of Registration) (England) Regulations 2001

  Made 9th May 2001 
  Laid before Parliament 10th May 2001 
  Coming into force 2nd July 2001 

The Secretary of State for Education and Employment in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 6(2) of Schedule 9A to the Children Act 1989[1], and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement and extent
     1.  - (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Child Minding and Day Care (Certificates of Registration) (England) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 2nd July 2001.

    (2) These Regulations extend only to England.

Information in certificates of registration
    
2. Certificates of registration for providing child minding or for providing day care shall give the following information about the following matters - 

    (a) the name of the registered person;

    (b) in the case of day care, the address at which the day care is to be provided;

    (c) any conditions applicable to the registration.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations set out what information about what matters is to be given in certificates of registration issued in England by the registration authority (Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Schools in England) to child minders and providers of day care who are registered under the Children Act 1989 (as amended by the Care Standards Act 2000).

[1] 1989 c. 41, Schedule 9A was inserted into the Children Act 1989 by Schedule 3 to the Care Standards Act 2000 (c. 14). For the meaning of "prescribed" see section 105(1) of the 1989 Act and for the meaning of "regulations" see section 79B(7) of that Act (as inserted by section 79 of the Care Standards Act 2000).back
