The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, with the consent of the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 56(1) and (2) of the Finance Act 1973[1] and by virtue of the Department of Transport (Fees) Order 1988[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations: - 1. These Regulations may be cited as the International Transport of Goods under Cover of TIR Carnets (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 1st June 2001. 2. - (1) The International Transport of Goods under Cover of TIR Carnets (Fees) Regulations 1988[3] shall be amended as follows. (2) In the regulations specified in column 1 of the Table for the amounts specified in column 2 there shall be substituted the amounts specified in column 3. TABLE
Signed by authority of the Secretary of State Larry Whitty Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions 2nd May 2001 We consent of the making of these Regulations Clive Betts Greg Pope Two of the Lord's Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury 8th May 2001 (This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations amend the International Transport of Goods under Cover of TIR Carnets (Fees) Regulations 1988 as follows. The fee for an inspection of a vehicle design-type in connection with the grant of TIR design-type approval is increased by 2.9% from £68 to £70 where the inspection of a design-type which is a variation of a design-type for which a TIR design-type approval has been granted and by 3.1% from £420 to £433 in any other case. The fee for the issue of a TIR vehicle approval certificate for a vehicle which is of a design-type for which TIR design-type approval has been granted is increased by 5% from £10 to £10.50. The fee for the issue of a duplicate of such certificate is increased by 5% from £10 to £10.50. The fee for an inspection of a vehicle in connection with the issue of a TIR vehicle approval certificate is increased by 2.2% from £46 to £47 where the inspection is carried out following refusal of such a certificate for the vehicle and by 3% from £66 to £68 in any other case.
