The Secretary of State, after consultation with the Council of the Isles of Scilly, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 111 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949[1] and section 68 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981[2], hereby makes the following Order: Citation and commencement 1. This Order may be cited as the Wildlife and Countryside (Isles of Scilly) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 12th June 2001. Amendment of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside (Isles of Scilly) Order 1973 2. In article 3 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside (Isles of Scilly) Order 1973[3], after the words "and the Countryside Act 1968" there is inserted -
Amendment of the Wildlife and Countryside (Isles of Scilly) Order 1983
(This note is not part of the Order) The Countryside Act 1968 is applied to the Isles of Scilly as if those Isles were a separate county (subject to certain modifications) by the National Parks and Access to the Countryside (Isles of Scilly) Order 1973 ("the 1973 Order"). Parts II and III of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 are applied to the Isles of Scilly as if those Isles were a separate county (subject to a modification) by the Wildlife and Countryside (Isles of Scilly) Order 1983 ("the 1983 Order"). Part III of, and Part III of Schedule 16 to, the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 make substantial amendments to the legislation relating to nature conservation which is applied to the Isles of Scilly by the 1973 and 1983 Orders.
