The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of powers conferred by section 89(1) of the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999[1], hereby makes the following Order: - Citation 1. This Order may be cited as the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999 (Commencement No. 11) Order 2001. Appointed day 2. 23rd April 2001 is the day appointed for the coming into force of -
(b) in Part I of Schedule 13 to that Act (repeals - miscellaneous pensions provisions), the repeal in section 83(3)(a) of the Pensions Act 1995 (amount of compensation payment)[2]; and (c) section 88 of that Act so far as it relates to that repeal.
(This note is not part of the Order) This Order brings into force on 23rd April 2001 section 17 of the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999 which amends the Pensions Act 1995 to make further provision for the compensation payable by the Pensions Compensation Board to schemes whose assets have been reduced in value as a result of certain acts or omissions. An associated repeal is brought into force on the same day. This Order does not impose any charge on business.
