The Epicentre LEAP Ellesmere Port Cheshire Education Action Zone (Amendment) Order 2001

  Laid before Parliament 15th March 2001 
  Coming into force 6th April 2001 

Whereas an application for the purpose of amending the Epicentre LEAP Ellesmere Port Cheshire Education Action Zone Order 1999 has been made to the Secretary of State with the consent of the governing bodies of every participating school in the Zone;

     Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 10(1) and 11 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998[1], hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement
     1. This Order may be cited as the the Epicentre LEAP Ellesmere Port Cheshire Education Action Zone (Amendment) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 6th April 2001.

Amendment of the Epicentre LEAP Ellesmere Port Cheshire Education Action Zone Order 1999
    
2.  - (1) The Epicentre LEAP Ellesmere Port Cheshire Education Action Zone Order 1999[2] shall be amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3) of this article.

    (2) In article 4(c) for "six persons" substitute "twelve persons";

    (3) There shall be inserted after article 9 the following article -

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order amends the Epicentre LEAP Ellesmere Port Cheshire Education Action Zone Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/3396).

It amends article 4 of that order to provide for additional members to be appointed to the Education Action Forum for the zone by the partners. It also provides for circumstances in which members of the Forum may be removed from office.
