The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 10(2) of the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000[1], hereby makes the following Order: 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000 (Commencement) Order 2001. (2) In this Order "the Act" means the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000. 2. - (1) Subject to paragraph (2), sections 1 to 9 (including Schedules 1 to 3) of the Act shall come into force on 2nd April 2001. (2) For the purpose of the imposition of a requirement or the giving of an express authorisation by a Minister of the Crown acting personally in accordance with section 19D(3) of the Race Relations Act 1976[2], section 1 of the Act shall come into force on 26th March 2001. Section 1 of the Act comes into force on 26th March 2001 for the purpose of the imposition of requirements or giving of express authorisations (as defined) by a Minister of the Crown, and for all other purposes on 2nd April 2001.
