The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 11 of the Channel Tunnel Act 1987[1], hereby makes the following Order: Citation and commencement 1. This Order may be cited as the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) (Amendment No. 2) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 19th February 2001. Interpretation 2. In this Order "the 1993 Order" means the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) Order 1993[2]. 3. In Schedule 5 to the 1993 Order, in Part II (Instruments amended), for paragraph 6 substitute -
6. The code of practice for examining officers under the Terrorism Act 2000[3] is amended -
(b) goods are loaded or unloaded,
on or, as the case may be, from a through train or shuttle train within the meaning of article 2(1) of the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) Order 1993", and
Code of practice for authorised officers under the Terrorism Act 2000
(b) goods are loaded or unloaded,
on or, as the case may be, from a through train or shuttle train within the meaning of article 2(1) of the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) Order 1993", and
(b) goods are loaded or unloaded,
on or, as the case may be, from a through train or shuttle train within the meaning of article 2(1) of the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) Order 1993."."
(This note is not part of the Order) This Order, which is made under section 11 of the Channel Tunnel Act 1987, has the effect of amending the codes of practice for examining officers and authorised officers under the Terrorism Act 2000, so that the codes apply to the exercise of their functions in relation to the Channel Tunnel system.
