COMPANIES

The Companies (Unregistered Companies) (Amendment) Regulations 2001

  Made 16th January 2001 
  Laid before Parliament 17th January 2001 
  Coming into force 16th February 2001 

The Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 718 of, and Schedule 22 to, the Companies Act 1985[1] and of all other powers enbling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

     1.  - (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Companies (Unregistered Companies) (Amendment) Regulations 2001.

    (2) These Regulations shall come into force on 16th February 2001.

    
2. The Companies (Unregistered Companies) Regulations 1985[2] are hereby amended by inserting in the Schedule to those Regulations, after the entry relating to Part X of the Act 1985, the following entry - 

    " Part XA Control of political donations by companies".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations apply certain provisions set out in Schedule 22 of the Companies Act 1985 to unregistered companies as defined in section 718 of the Companies Act. The provisions are those referred to in the entry in Schedule 22 relating to Part XA of the Companies Act, as inserted by the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000.

The provisions so applied relate to the control of political donations by companies and are applied without any limitations mentioned in Schedule 22 in relation to those provisions and without any adaptations or modifications specified by regulations made by the Secretary of State.
