The Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (England and Wales) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 2000

  Coming into force 28th November 2000 

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, being designated[1] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[2] in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the said section 2(2), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, makes the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement and extent
     1.  - (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (England and Wales) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 28th November 2000.

    (2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales.

Amendment of the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (England and Wales) Regulations 2000
    
2. In Schedule 3 Part I, paragraph 1, to the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (England and Wales) Regulations 2000[3] after the words "Commission Decision 2000/651/EC (OJ No. L272, 25.10.00, p. 46)" there shall be added the following - 

      " and Commission Decision 2000/705/EC (OJ No. L288, 15.11.00, p. 30)".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations amend Schedule 3 to the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (England and Wales) Regulations 2000 (S.I. 2000/1673 as amended) so as to implement the requirements of Commission Decision 2000/705/EC (OJ No. L288, 15.11.00, p. 30). The effect of this amendment is to extend the period of application of the requirements of Decision 2000/528/EC concerning certain protection measures relating to Classical Swine Fever in the United Kingdom.

A regulatory impact assessment has not been made in respect of these Regulations.
