In exercise of the powers conferred by section 154(1) and (3) of the Learning and Skills Act 2000[1] the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Order: Citation and interpretation 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Learning and Skills Act 2000 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2000. (2) In this Order "the Act" means the Learning and Skills Act 2000. Provision coming into force 2. - (1) The provisions of the Act specified in Part I of the Schedule to this Order shall come into force on 3rd August 2000. (2) The provision of the Act specified in Part II of the Schedule to this Order shall come into force on 10th August 2000. (3) The provision of the Act specified in Part III of the Schedule to this Order shall come into force on 1st September 2000. (4) Unless otherwise specified in the Schedule to this Order the provisions referred to in paragraphs (1) to (3) above shall come into force for all purposes.
