ROAD TRAFFIC, ENGLAND

The M1 Motorway (Junction 15) (Speed Limit) Regulations 2000

  Laid before Parliament 17th July 2000 
  Coming into force 8th August 2000 

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions in exercise of the powers conferred by section 17(2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 134(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement
     1. These Regulations may be cited as the M1 Motorway (Junction 15) (Speed Limit) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 8th August 2000.

Interpretation
    
2. In these Regulations - 

"the northbound entry slip road" means the northbound entry slip road linking the northbound carriageway of the M1 Motorway with the A508 at Junction 15; and

"the restricted length of the northbound entry slip road" means that length of the northbound entry slip road from its junction with the A508 Trunk Road for a distance of 30 metres northward.

Imposition of speed limit
    
3. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour on the restricted length of the northbound entry slip road.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations impose a speed limit of 40 miles per hour on a length of the northbound entry slip road linking the A508 with the northbound carriageway of the M1 Motorway, at Junction 15 in the County of Northampton. The length affected runs from the junction of the slip road with the A508 for a distance of 30 metres northward.
