The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 20(8), 21(8) and 51(4) of the Gaming Act 1968[1], hereby makes the following Order: 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 12th June 2000. (2) In this Order "the 1968 Act" means the Gaming Act 1968. 2. Section 20(8) of the 1968 Act (under which the maximum amount by which weekly winnings on any particular bingo club premises may exceed the aggregate amount of the stakes hazarded is £6,000[2]) shall have effect with the substitution, for the reference to the sum specified in that subsection, of a reference to the sum of £6,500. 3. It is hereby directed that paragraphs (b) and (e) of section 21(2) of the 1968 Act (conditions on which gaming for prizes is permitted at licensed club premises) shall have effect as if -
(b) for the sum specified in paragraph (e) there were substituted the sum of £120[4].

Article 3 and article 4(b) and (d) of the Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order 1999[5] are hereby revoked. (This note is not part of the Order) This Order (which extends to England and Wales and Scotland) increases the monetary limits specified in sections 20(8) and 21(2) of the Gaming Act 1968 (c. 65) and described in articles 2 and 3 of the Order.
