TRANSPORT

The Railways (Inverness Station) (Exemptions) Order 2000

  Made 3rd May 2000 
  Laid before Parliament 4th May 2000 
  Coming into force 26th May 2000 

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 49(4) of the Railways Act 1993[1] hereby makes the following Order: - 

Citation and commencement
     1. This order may be cited as The Railways (Inverness Station) (Exemptions) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 26th May 2000.

Disapplication of the Closure Provisions
    
2. The networks consisting of - 

    (a) the railway line consisting of the final 23 metres of track adjacent to and serving platform 1 at Inverness station;

    (b) the railway line consisting of the final 41 metres of track adjacent to and serving platform 7 at Inverness station; and

    (c) any installations associated with any of the track comprised in these railway lines

are networks in relation to which section 39 of the Railways Act 1993 (closure of operational passenger networks) is not to have effect.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order provides that section 39 of the Railways Act 1993 (closure of operational passenger networks) is not to apply to the networks consisting of the final 23 metres of track adjacent to platform 1 and the final 43 metres of track adjacent to platform 7 (together with any associated installations) at Inverness Station.
