NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE, ENGLAND

The National Health Service Supplies Authority (Establishment and Constitution) Amendment Order 2000

  Made 7th March 2000 
  Laid before Parliament 8th March 2000 
  Coming into force 1st April 2000 

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 11(4)(c) and 126(3) and (4) of the National Health Service Act 1977[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, commencement, interpretation and extent
     1.  - (1) This Order may be cited as the National Health Service Supplies Authority (Establishment and Constitution) Amendment Order 2000 and shall come into force on 1st April 2000.

    (2) In this Order - 

    "the Authority" means the National Health Service Supplies Authority;

    (3) This order extends to England and Wales.

Change of name of the Authority
     2. The Authority shall be called the National Health Service Logistics Authority instead of the National Health Service Supplies Authority and, accordingly, in article 2 of the Order for the word "Supplies" there is substituted the word "Logistics".

Transitional provisions
    
3. The change of name under this Order shall not -

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order changes the name of the National Health Service Supplies Authority, a Special Health Authority established under section 11 of the National Health Authority Act 1977, to the National Health Service Logistics Authority. It also makes transitional provision.
